Contribution to district Event - Conducting a programme on Childhood Cancer - Multiple District Service Project

Supporting the Multiple Service District Project held at Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama, the Lions Club of Piliyandala donated 100 towels for pediatric cancer patients, standing in solidarity with the brave little fighters. The project was honored by the presence of Immediate International President Lion Fabricio Oliveira as Chief Guest.

Conducting a programme on Childhood Cancer - Multiple District Service Project

A Multiple Service Project was successfully conducted at Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama, with the objective of supporting brave little fighters undergoing pediatric cancer treatment. As part of this humanitarian initiative, essential items were donated to pediatric cancer patients to assist them during their treatment and recovery. The project was graced by the presence of Immediate International President Lion Fabricio Oliveira as the Chief Guest, adding great significance and inspiration to the occasion. In line with this service effort, the Lions Club of Piliyandala proudly donated 100 towels for children, extending comfort, care, and compassion to young patients and their families during a challenging time. This project reflects the Lions’ enduring commitment to humanitarian service, child welfare, and compassionate community support.

Provided Sanitation Facility for Neboda Maha Vidyalaya - Neboda

As part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals initiative on sanitation and hygiene, the Lions Club of Piliyandala donated four Comerd units to Neboda Maha Vidyalaya. This project was implemented to benefit 360 students continuously over five school days per week, four weeks per month, for a duration of three months. (360 of Students x 5 Days X 4 Weeks X 3 Months)

Environmental Sustainability Through Tree Plant Distribution among the 300 Social Welfare Grants

Based on findings reported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), it is estimated that for every tree planted and properly maintained, four people benefit—highlighting the significant social and environmental impact of sustained tree‑planting initiatives. In alignment with this global perspective, we successfully launched a Tree Planting Project at Dharma Shasthrodaye Piriwen Viharaya - Piliyandala , through which 300 plants were donated to Social Welfare Grants couple with dilindu sahana project.

Under the project theme “Global Cause – Conducting a Program for Hunger”, initiated by DistrictGovernor Lion Priyantha Perera of Lions Clubs International – District 306 D2, a donation campaign was successfully organized to support Social Welfare Grant beneficiaries in the Piliyandala area. The entire contribution for this project was sponsored by the members of the Lions Club of Piliyandala. On 12th April 2026 at Dharma Shasthrodaye Piriwen Viharaya - Piliyandala, dry ration packs were prepared and distributed among 300 beneficiaries under this welfare initiative.
